Advise on X partner abusing mental hospitals?

My partner now my X has bi-polar but over these last few months his been really evil cold and nasty to me and my family, every time he wanted a break like a holiday he would make up stories to get into the mental hospital for a week or two and sign himself out, his said his OD and me being a person with a heart phoned for an ambulance to get him hospital, but when he got back to mine he'd laugh and say well i got in hospital and no one can do anything for him lying as he'd say its his condition and he'd get away with it all even hitting me, this is the last time his doing this to me as ive kicked him out and phoned the police, but thursday just gone he texed me and said he cant go back to the police as he thinks he might be in hospital on the monday, and blow me down he self admitted himself in the mental hospital, he texted me saying his there now getting free food and 5star treatment and the police cant touch him and he can make as many nasty phone calls to me from different phones.
