Why does the military sell all of its new hardware?

The Military does not sale hardware. The F-22 sale will be a sale between the company constructing the F-22 and the target nation. AND, the US Government will not make one thin dime off this sale. We are required by law not to either show a profit, nor take a loss on sales. And we do it so our allies are every bit as strong and capable as we are. This will come in handy when the aliens invade!
