How do I properly brown meat?

I lightly flour chunks of beef or pork after seasoning, brown in small amount of oil. Make sure your pan is quite hot and leave the meat to brown for as long as it takes- maybe 5 minutes. Just remember that caramelization means flavor so you want to brown it well. I would add liquid to the pan to help remove all of the bits that have stuck to the bottom. Transfer this liquid to your crock pot.
