Does the Watergate Scandal proove the President is above the law?

I have to write a thesis and I am arguing that Nixon was above the law. My reasons are he covered up a scandal, he initiated the Saturday night macre, he lied to the public, and he ultimately got away with it. Is this a viable thesis?
