How do I properly brown meat?

I lightly flour chunks of beef or pork after seasoning, brown in small amount of oil. Make sure your pan is quite hot and leave the meat to brown for as long as it takes- maybe 5 minutes. Just remember that caramelization means flavor so you want to brown it well. I would add liquid to the pan to help remove all of the bits that have stuck to the bottom. Why do my beans stay rock hard?

I am cooking navy beans in a crock pot. I soaked them for several hours. I put the crock on high for two hours, then turned it off and let the beans soak for 24 hours. I drained the soak water and put in fresh water, added moles, brown sugar, mustard and onions. I cooked beans on low overnight and they are still rock hard and not very brown ... like they are refusing to soak up any liquid. HELP! How to deal bullies that prey on younger children?

I have a younger cousin who's barely 5 being bullied by a bunch of 8-14 year olds living in the same apt complex, and one do*chebag pushing 20? Everytime I visit, I would hear them running all over the place , mocking and mimicking my cousins manner of speech and actions ( to the pnt where it gets prtty obvious already). On one occasion they did this in front of her mom etc. The thing is, my cousin is starting to get a little bothered by it.. SHe doesn't have troubles at school, infact she loves going there bec that's the one of the few places she actually feels comfortable in ( friends, teachers, etc).. but once she gets home.. I mean I can tell it's bothering her. The kids are pretty loud so even if the windows are closed I can still hear them. Their parents don't mind, so talking to them is a lost cause ( there's been some minor altercations , not physical , between them and her mom). Her mother is too busy with school and work , so talking to her about more problems gets difficult. I don't know what to tell her? When I visit, I usually just take her out to the park/movies/shopping malls/museums/ etc but that gets tiring AND expensive... What pisses me off more is the fact that they are bullying a child who's so much younger than they are? Aren't they supposed to be doing something productive with their time? or pick on kids their own age level? I've given her some origami books to divert attention but I don't think its working. I don't what her self esteem to be diminished... or should I just let it be and let her sort it out, fight her own battles? srry for bad english, not first language!!

Does anybody know if a person's circadian rhythms can be changed and how long it takes to do it?

I am retired now, but all my working years I tried to change my circadian rhythm because despite the fact that I would come home from work exhausted at 6 p.m., when 9 p.m. came around I would "perk up" and get the energy that I lacked all day long..... I would go to bed @ 1:30 or 2:00 and had to get up at 6:30. "Day" people would try to tell me that it was just "habit".......but no matter how much sleep I got, I was never 100% ffunctioning during daylight hours. I still joke with friend who go to bed at 10:30 or 11:00 and "can't understand how I can sleep so late in the morning" (I'm retired....why do I still need to get up with the birds???) and I tell them that when they are crawling into bed I am just getting into second gear. Over the years I have tried to change this, but my ENERGY is still only at night. Now that I am retired I just "go with the flow", but when I do have to get up (what I call) "early" (before 10 or 11 a.m.) I am still dragging all day.....so now when I have to make an appointment (hair, doctor, etc.) I always make it for mid or late afternoon. Still....you will never be able to convince the people who bound out of bed at 6 a.m. ready to start their day....that there are different body rhythms that you may be able to work around, but never change.

Algae eater for my danios?

its a failry balnced team. The only thing that i would do is drop one of your bench hitters and try to get another closer if there is one availible. Bench hitters are pretty much useless consider most of your hitters will play every day. I would only have 1 bench hitter at most and try to pick up a pitcher or two. Since they only pitch every 5 or 6 days you can rotate your pitchers around much easier. Any hitters who arent gonna play every day are useless. Also middle relievers arent worth much either. You want either staters or closers who will pick up wins and saves and also have much more stikeouts. Even if a middle reliever has a low era its not gonna help you much cause they dont get enough innings to bring your era down much anyway. So maybe drop okajima

fed 3 week old cluster feeding horribly?

2-3 days ago my daughter suddenly began wanting to nurse for longer periods, and it's gotten to the point that she wants to eat constantly! Not just at certain times of the day. Here's to GL, may the Light always shine for us!! Many many toasts to this beloved Soap. I enjoyed the last show, but at the end when it said "The End" it hit me like a bomb. I never thought I would feel that hurt. The end of 55 years of me watching this show. I watched at first with my Grandmother, and then with my daughter, all through her illness with AIDs. It kept her mind off her own suffering, and something like that is priceless. And then it was with her daughter, my Granddaughter. I remember being at School and running home to watch The Guiding Light, and then at work, to watch Guiding Light. And always thinking , will Josh walk again? Will Reva stay married to Josh's Father? Vanessa with Matt on an Island. Roger d Holly, brutal and yet heart pumping. We saw it all, Clones, another Reva? help us all LOL. But then the show started going downhill. Even the fanclub got different with the Mindi, whoever the otherones' name. These ladies had no feelings, and the Journals got weak, with asking the same questions to all the actors. I also have many Autographed photos, but so what? It is the images in our minds and hearts that truly matter. It was the watching 5 days a week that mattered. But it didn't matter to the writers or Wheeler, gee even her name leaves a bad taste in the mouth. We tried, letters by snail-mail, Emails and this so-called Producer just shrugged us off. On 60 minutes, she sat and cried, for who? Certainly not the show that her and her pet writers destroyed. Beth Ehlers was a big part of GL, they ruined her character and then her and "Gus" were gone. And that was a whole in the show's structure. I'm sorry fellow Soapers, but Grady, with his receding hairline was in need of a bath, and acting lessons. And Daisy/Susan kept on seeing him knowing he ran down her cousin Tammy. They tried messing with our minds and treating us like really dumb children. But the H*ll with them. The show is ended. But the Light will be forever in our minds, and in our Hearts. I know, I have said this all over this board, and I will think it till the end of my life. I am not obsessed with this Soap but do know many who are and the tears will keep falling for a very long time. But we here will be Stronger than that, and we will fondly remember the show, that made so many people laugh, and cry for all those years. And whether you watched for 60 years or one year, the Light has touched you in one way or another. To you my friends, keep the Light burning forever in your hearts.

I used to own a Ford Conversion Van myself and took many long road trips in it. It's great for what you are doing. You could certainly spend the night in it, but be safe, probably worth at least staying at a camp ground. I like warm weather, so I would head immediately South. Gulf Shores, Alabama is nice. White beaches, and fairly cheap. Of course this time of year the only sure bet for warm weather is South FL. Have fun.

Music videos are pretty easy to find all over the place and its a hell of a lot easier than going through itunes copy protection.

If your speakers are powered by ac, then it is most likely static build-up. Turn off your computer and all peripherals, unplug all components, including the pc. Disconnect the speakers from the pc. Leave everything unplugged for about 30 seconds. This discharges the static build-up. Reconnect your speakers to the pc, and then plug everything back into the power source. My cat is a few years old, never had a problem until now. She keeps peeing and pooping on our carpet. It got to the point where my dad got really mad at her and ed her. It scared her to death but it didn't stop her. When she does it and you find it she hides, she knows it's bad. We've tried sprays to deter her but they only worked for like a day. We've tried tin foil and she would just find a new spot to go. We would move the litter box but don't want to screw it up for my other cat. We tried adding a second litter box but the cat won't use it. Today we are going to get a bigger litter box to see if that helps, (it worked for my Aunts cat.) My parents are on the last straw and they said if we don't fix the problem we are getting rid of her. Please help, I love my cat and don't to get rid of her!

People are so insane on here. Why do you guys hate each other or other bands (for example emos, MCR, FOB) so much. Its not even that necessary. Food aggression towards other dogs?

Bella may grow out of this as she realizes there will always be food available to her. It would be wise to feed them separately until then,or at least be there with them while they eat. If she is not aggressive with you,you may try training her not to be food aggressive. I've done this with my boxers but only do this if you know she isn't going to bite you. You are dealing with a bully dog(does not refer to their being bullies) and they have very powerful jaw muscles. As she is eating, take her food away from her. Make her sit and do not give her food back until she does. She will learn if she is patient,she will be fed. As the older dog,she will want to be dominate. Also,boxers and pitts have a dominate personality. They aren't necessarily aggressive dogs,just dominate. You need to be sure she knows you and your wife are pack leaders. Bella may have been starving,alone and remembers this. It is only natural she would try to hog all of the food,toys and attention if she were in that situation. Give her time and maybe she will calm down and maybe Sasha will begin to stick up for herself.

Well Bob, Seems that you thought this through. The first thing that I thought of was it`s a 2nd level deck. Adding any kind of structure on that 2nd story deck will add a lot more weight on those deck post and beams. Make sure that the beam is notched on the 6"x6" deck post going into the ground. Writing about the ground brings up another thought; is the original concrete footers going to hold that 2nd story deck roof. I started to remodel a owners attached 'add-on' to there old deck, like you are going to do and found out in the middle of there project that the add-on had sunk into the ground 8", due to the first builders not checking on the deck footers. And the project had to go on hold until the footers had to be redesigned(engineered). Just a heads-up when adding on more weight onto a existing deck footer. Now if your going to do this with a wooden roof system, then I "highly" recommend getting it engineered by a True 'Engineer' and having a permit will insure that it pes all codes and will stay attached to your house forever. "No one" likes to find out later on that the structure is sinking into the ground due to the fact that the one building the structure didn`t know anything about " barring loads". And how they effect your structure your building. A retractable awning may be the way to go here and save you all that work and money to do this project right from the start. Sorry for being total honest here but that`s just me :-). Hoped any of my info. helped keep you safe and smiling around your bar for a long time...

Six year old has head cold and vomiting?

My six year old suffers from sinus issues. It starts out as a case of the sniffles. Then a full head cold. He sinuses are congested, stuffy/runny nose and cough. The cough seems to come from the mucus draining down the back of his throat from his sinuses. The drainage goes to his tummy and it makes him vomit. Advise on X partner abusing mental hospitals?

My partner now my X has bi-polar but over these last few months his been really evil cold and nasty to me and my family, every time he wanted a break like a holiday he would make up stories to get into the mental hospital for a week or two and sign himself out, his said his OD and me being a person with a heart phoned for an ambulance to get him hospital, but when he got back to mine he'd laugh and say well i got in hospital and no one can do anything for him lying as he'd say its his condition and he'd get away with it all even hitting me, this is the last time his doing this to me as ive kicked him out and phoned the police, but thursday just gone he texed me and said he cant go back to the police as he thinks he might be in hospital on the monday, and blow me down he self admitted himself in the mental hospital, he texted me saying his there now getting free food and 5star treatment and the police cant touch him and he can make as many nasty phone calls to me from different phones.

It's a matter of opinion, there is no correct answer. I know a lot of people who prefer old school special effects, but I am quite partial to computer generated imagery when it's done right. Although when it comes to explosions, you just can't beat the real thing, lol.

If a person is repeatedly suspended for violations, they seem to flag the IP and any new accounts that keep happening will be automatically closed within 24 hours. But that still gives these people time to annoy us for a while. Report, report, report is the only real answer.
